• 2,798,651 people visited Independence National Historical Park in 2024, an 8% decrease from the previous year.
• 3,042,598 people visited in 2023, a 13.2% increase from 2022 (2,688,302).
• 1,495,686 people visited the park in 2021, 65% more than 2020 but below pre-pandemic levels.
• 907,090 people visited in 2020 during the pandemic, a significant 80% decrease from 2019 (4,532,459).

From January to March of 2025, approximately 450,820 people visited Independence National Historical Park.

Independence NHP’s peak season is during the summer.

• The most popular months in 2024 were May and July, which, along with August and April, saw visitor numbers typically ranging between 200,000-300,000 each month.

• Spring (April – June) and Fall (September – October): Pleasant weather. Visitor numbers are generally lower than peak summer months, particularly in Fall, offering potentially fewer crowds and full access to sites. Good for touring Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell and nearby historic buildings.
• Summer (July – August): Very crowded especially on the 4th of July. Long lines and hot weather.
• Winter (December – March): Few crowds, good for a quiet visit, but some buildings may have reduced hours or be closed seasonally.
