Wohnmobilstellplatz is the Swiss-German term for a basic motorhome parking area. These are designated spaces with water and waste disposal facilities and cost approximately CHF 10–25 per night.
Wild camping in a motorhome in Switzerland or “overnighting” is strictly prohibited.
Switzerland has over 350 campsites, starting at 22 Swedish francs ($22 USD) per night.
To rent a motorhome in Switzerland, you need a valid Type B (Standard) Driving License. Additionally, you must be 21 years or older to rent a campervan and must have at least one year of driving experience. Some companies, however, may prefer drivers to be at least 23 years old.
