Driving a Campervan around Lisbon

Lisbon connects to highway A1 north to Porto, A2 south to the Algarve and A12 across the Vasco da Gama bridge. The 25 de Abril bridge on the A2 has heavy traffic in the morning and evening, so check traffic conditions before crossing.
A low-emission zone called ZER covers the inner city. Only vehicles with Euro 4 or newer engines may enter between 07:00 and 21:00, and you must display an approved sticker.
Highway tolls place most campervans in Class 2 when the first-axle height is more than 1.10 meters. Pay with Via Verde electronic system or at card and cash lanes.
Overnight parking is limited to forty-eight hours outside protected areas. Use official ASA stops or campsites to avoid fines.
Park-and-Ride sites at Oriente, Sete Rios and several metro stations allow you to park your van and take public transport into the city center for a few euros.
